Teen Art Workshop with Kate Knowles – Saturday, July 12th

We’re thrilled to offer a special one-day art workshop just for teenagers, led by acclaimed Irish artist Kate Knowles. Designed for budding young creatives, this workshop blends indoor and outdoor artistic experiences in the heart of Ballinakill and Heywood Gardens.

Morning Session – Ballinakill Parish Hall
The day begins with an engaging studio session where participants will:

• Create their own sketchbook from scratch—a personal tool to record ideas and progress.
• Take part in a process tutorial, learning foundational techniques to begin thinking like an artist and explore their own style.

Afternoon Session – Heywood Gardens
In the stunning surroundings of Heywood Gardens, students will:

• Dive into En Plein Air painting, learning to prepare surfaces, gather inspiration from nature, and use their handmade sketchbooks to guide their final piece.
• Gain confidence in outdoor painting with plenty of guidance, encouragement, and time to experiment.

Whether new to art or already practicing, this workshop is ideal for any teen looking to develop their skills in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
