How physically challenging is this  outdoor education training programme?

As both in-person training days will  involve hillwalking in Laragh (Wicklow) and Mourne (Down), a reasonable level of fitness is required.

What equipment do I need to bring?

Hiking Boots: Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots. Runners are not suitable. A waterproof, windproof jacket with hood & waterproof over trousers. Several light layers of  synthetic clothing -no cotton. Hat and gloves-  essential, even in summer! Walking poles - optional. Rucksack , water, snacks.

All navigation equipment will be provided.

Are the in-person training locations on a public transport route?

Accepted Answer

No. Depending on numbers and requirements, we will  run a bus or taxi   from the nearest main town to the training locations or we will organise car sharing.

Will I receive any certification for this course?

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance
