Anna Tanvir

Anna Tanvir is a singer-harpist and writer of Irish/Indian origin. Born

in Dublin, Anna's childhood was spent in Ireland, Devon and India.

Over these itinerant years, she developed a repertoire of world

music, singing, and playing instruments from an early age. Anna

studied music at Dartington College of Arts and the Royal Academy

of Music, London.   Her music has earned her invitations to perform

at New Morning and Olympia in Paris and she was the ‘Golden Voice’

in Fougeres Voice Festival. Anna has performed in the Summer

Festival of Bourges 17 years consecutively, as well as at a private

birthday party for Mich Jagger and the Dalai Lama’s Sacred Music

Festival in India. She has recorded an album and an EP of traditional

Madagascan music, and has toured extensively with Erick Manana,

Graeme Allwright and Reg Meuross. She has played alongside Ralph

McTell, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh Irish fiddler (Altan), and Liam’

O’Maonlai on RTE’s Late Late Show as well as many more

collaborations in France, Canada, India, Ireland, and Madagascar.

Anna sings in many different languages; traditional melodies, and her

own compositions reflecting her mixed cultural heritage.

Maninder Singh

Maninder is a singer, composer and producer. He has worked in various

musical styles, including experimental funk, rock Jazz- Blues, minimalism,

Reggae and R&B -Jazz style.

Recently, Maninder was awarded a grant from Carlow Arts in Ireland to record,

produce and release the song ‘Mayfly’.

Born in Dehradun, India to Sikh parents, Maninder learnt to play tabla at a very

young age, and accompanied his aunt singing at her live performances. When

he was 15, he taught himself guitar and gradually acquired his own original

playing style, influenced by Red hot chilli peppers, Pink Floyd, Queen, Rage

against the machine, Bob Marley and King Crimson amongst others.

His work as a composer and bass-player, kept him playing with many bands

and performing with many musicians all over India. As a music teacher in his

home town, he taught children who were visually challenged and under-

privileged. He also introduced music and organised the infrastructure to learn

music in many mainstream schools and training centres for civil servants in his

region of Northern India.

In 2017, he met Irish-Indian singer/harpist Anna Tanvir, and re-discovered

singing; his style reflects Wadali Brothers, Nat King Cole, John Mc Cormack and

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

He is currently working on a new album and touring as a singer and guitarist

for Indeceltic.
